Drew Butler is back.  He wasn’t gone long.  The punter, who has replaced normal punter Dave Zastudil the first three weeks, has been re-signed back to the team onto the practice squad.  He had been cut yesterday to make room for running back Marion Grice.

Adding Butler back to the practice squad can only mean one thing.  It means Zasty isn’t ready to go or the Cards aren’t sure he will be ready to go even after the bye week this week.  That is concerning but sometimes groin injuries can be troublesome.

In order to make room for Butler, the Cards released defensive tackle Christian Tupou from the practice squad.  Butler has had nine punts so far this season.  He has averaged 47.9 yards per punt.  He only had to punt once against the San Francisco 49ers and that went for 49 yards.  Two of Butler’s punts have pinned opponents inside the 20 yard line.  If Zasty can’t go against Denver, the Cards will have to activate Butler again and make another corresponding move.
