The Arizona Cardinals may have found the answer they need at starting tight end.  We are quickly finding out what quarterback Carson Palmer was talking about this summer when talking about the acquisition of tight end John Carlson.  We are also finding what he means to the Cardinals.

Through three games he has six receptions for 96 yards.  He has not scored a touchdown yet but he has made several big receptions when the Cards have needed them.  He caught three passes for 33 yards against the San Francisco 49ers.

He also also been a huge help on the offensive line blocking as well.  Carlson, in his seventh season out of Notre Dame, brings a lot of experience.  I said this a couple of weeks about Carlson, that Palmer said he was the best off-season acquisition for the Cards.  Right now, you won’t get much argument. The other exciting thing will be to see how he will mentor rookie Troy Niklas, also from Notre Dame.  The position is the healthiest it has been in years.
