Victor Butler, we barley got to know you.  The Arizona Cardinals released the linebacker on Tuesday.  Butler was picked up a couple of weeks ago but was inactive for the only game he was with the team, in week three against the San Francisco 49ers.

Butler was released because the health of linebacker Alex Okafor has improved.  Okafor has been inactive each of the first three weeks of the season.  The release of Butler means that the Cardinals still have one open roster spot since Okafor was already on the active 53-man roster.

Butler was with the New Orleans Saints in training camp before being released on August 26th.  Now we will wait and see who the Cards add to the roster, which currently stands at 52.  The Cards had said they would evaluate the roster each week and consistently bring players in for tryouts to get the best 53 men available.
