It wasn’t pretty and one Birdgang wants to move on from as soon as possible, but game balls still need to be given out for the Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos in the 41-20 Broncos victory.

Offensive game ball:

Quarterback Peyton Manning, Broncos.  Manning threw for 479 yards with four touchdowns, including his 500th career six-pointer.  Yes he threw two interceptions but he was really in control most of the day.

Defensive game ball:

Cornerback Jerraud Powers, Cardinals.  Powers had seven tackles and also had an interception.  It wasn’t a pretty day for the corners but Powers was very active on Sunday, mostly in a positive sense.

Special Teams game ball:

Punter Dave Zastudil, Cardinals.  Zasty returned to punting duties and worked overtime.  He had 11 punts on Sunday for an average of 44.3 yards per punt.  His longest kick went for 53 yards.  Not bad for missing the entire first month of the season.
