Arizona Cardinals Have A Tough Test Against Eagles

The Arizona Cardinals take on the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale

Normally I wait until at least Tuesday to start looking ahead to the next game, however now that the Cards have avoided the trap against the Oakland Raiders, it is time to get down to business and look at the next task, beating the Philadelphia Eagles.

Based on what I’ve read on Facebook, Twitter, online, people really want to look past the Eagles game next Sunday and look towards the matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on November 2nd in Dallas.  Too soon.  Way too soon.

I find some mention about the Eagles game but my Twitter timeline and Facebook feed is filled with people that want to start discussing Cowboys.  It will be a big game no doubt but that one doesn’t matter right now.  We save that one for next week.

The Eagles are 5-1 and are coming off their bye week, so they should be well rested.  The Eagles last played a week ago Sunday night against the New York Giants and shut them out 27-0.  Their only loss is to the San Francisco 49ers, a team the Cards have already defeated.

The scary part is I don’t think the Eagles have played their best game yet.  They lost a close one to the Niners 26-21 but the offense didn’t score a single point in that one.  You can also make the argument the Cards haven’t played their best yet either and far from it.

There will be plenty of chatter about this one as the week progresses.  Please though, let’s tame the chatter on the Cowboys.  We’ll all get that chance and it’ll be that much better to talk about if the Cards are 6-1 at the time.  One game at a time.
