The San Francisco 49ers started off the second quarter with a drive culminating in a 53-yard field goal by kicker Phil Dawson

The Arizona Cardinals were able to hold the San Francisco 49ers to a field goal attempt in the first drive of the second quarter.  The kick was unfortunately good by about one yard as it just cleared the crossbar.  That started the scoring in the quarter off and gave the 49ers a 10-7 lead at the time.  Oh didn’t it end so differently though.

The Cardinals got the ball back and moved the ball well again.  However after 27-yard pass to the 49ers 24-yard line, Cardinals quarterback Lindley was sacked for a loss of eight-yards.  Two plays later Lindley was intercepted and the drive was over, ending a second possible field goal threat.

The Cardinals have moved the ball but making mistakes inside the 30-yard line are going to cost them this game.  They aren’t going to score five or six touchdowns, so every scoring opportunity is huge.

As for the 49ers, they also moved the ball well.  The Cardinals have been burned on a couple of third and longs and the secondary has been burned by a few long 49ers pass plays including a 35-yard pass play to receiver Quinton Patton.  It set up the 49ers second field goal of the goal of the game t0 put them up 13-7.

Lindley got the ball back and almost gave it up again.  He threw an interception which was dropped.  Then he proceeded to take the ball down the field with precision.  They stalled after driving 73-yards.  Lindley again almost threw a pick in the end zone but receiver Michael Floyd was able to keep it out of the 49ers hands.  Kicker Chandler Catanzaro kicked a 36-yard field goal to bring the Cardinals to within three points at 13-10.

The best was saved for last though.  After holding the 49ers after the field goal, the Cardinals got the ball back and Lindley took the Cardinals down the field 75 yards in four plays.  He threw his second touchdown of the day to receiver Michael Floyd for 41 yards.  This is not the Ryan Lindley of last week or the Michael Floyd of all season.  Floyd has six receptions for 119 yards.
