Player profile of S Rashad Johnson as Arizona Cardinals training camp starts July 31st

As we prepare for Arizona Cardinals training camp reporting date of July 31st, it is time for our annual look at the roster player by player.  I look at what they’ve done, where they are now and how I project each player’s status at the end of camp.

We go from A to Z and continue with S Rashad Johnson.  Johnson is entering his seventh season with the Cardinals out of Alabama.

2014 season: Johnson started all 16 games for the first time in his career last season.  He gave the Cardinals good production as well.  He had 92 tackles, one sack, eight passes defensed, and four touchdowns.  To me that’s getting it done.  He also scored two touchdowns and forced a fumble.  That’s one active safety.

2015 season projection: He’ll be right there once again in the mix of things.  With the exception of 2012, Johnson has improved his production from the previous season.  If he improves himself over the 2014 season, he should be a Pro-Bowler.  With him, Deone Bucannon and Tyrann Mathieu in the defensive backfield I like the Cardinals chances.

That last tweet says it all.  The Cardinals safeties are to be reckoned with.  They do have one of the better foursomes of safeties in the league.  Johnson was the biggest part of that in 2014.  In 2015, with a healthier Mathieu and a more experienced Bucannon, it can only help Johnson.  Plus you have the coaching side of Johnson as mentioned in one of the tweets.
