Arizona Cardinals: Game balls vs Rams

Despite the 24-22 loss by the Arizona Cardinals to the St. Louis Rams, there were still good performances

Sure the Arizona Cardinals lost on Sunday afternoon to the St. Louis Rams, however there were still some players who deserved recognition for their play.  It may have seemed everyone was in a bit of a lull but these Cards stood above the rest.

It isn’t always easy to find a silver lining in a loss but the Cardinals were just yards away from being able to attempt a game-winning field goal on Sunday.  These players had a good Sunday afternoon at University of Phoenix Stadium.

Game ball #1:

Running back Chris Johnson.  He played hard all afternoon.  He carried the ball 18 times for 83 yards.  Those 83 yards put the Cardinals in scoring position several times.  It also helped the Cardinals to rush over 100 yards for the fourth time this season.  The running game is alive and getting better.

Game ball #2: Receiver Michael Floyd.  Easily his best game of the season.  He was involved in a number of big plays.  He drew a huge pass interference call and helped the Cardinals to a couple of first downs.  Knowing how far he has come since his preseason surgery on his hand, it was great to see him have his five receptions for 59 yards on Sunday.

Game ball #3:

Defensive end Calais Campbell.  He was a monster on Sunday afternoon.  He had 11 tackles, three of them for a loss.  He hit Rams quarterback Nick Foles twice.  He did record half a sack as well with linebacker Markus Golden.  It was great to see CC get after it on Sunday.  you could tell how bad he wanted it despite the loss.
