The Arizona Cardinals have concluded mini-camp with next stop training camp in Glendale

We continue our annual look at player by player from A to Z on the current Arizona Cardinals roster as we are now entering the final stages of the offseason before the start of training camp. The next stop is training camp on July 28th.

In this profile we look at receiver Jaron Brown.  Brown, as talented as he is, could be the odd man out this season?

2015: Brown had his moments.  Arguably his best game was against the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle on Sunday Night Football.  He caught just three passes for 38 yards but one of his receptions went for 10 yards in a tight 32-29 game that helped keep a drive alive.

Brown also had a nice 20 yard reception in the game as the Cardinals were trying to close things out.  He only had one more game last season in which he had more than one reception.  That was the game at the Chicago Bears in which he caught two passes.

2016: Brown’s competition isn’t getting any easier.  We know Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd, and John Brown are in.  Also likely in is receiver J.J Nelson.  That leaves maybe two spots.  Maybe because the Cardinals could keep more running backs and/or tight ends.

With only 11 receptions last season, clearly the Cardinals would like to see more production.  Of course he needs to be on the field.  The best way onto the field is to work hard in practice and make plays when the opportunities arise. Otherwise he will find himself out of a job.

Brown is exciting to watch but guys like Amir Carlisle, Jaxon Shipley, and Brittan Golden could have something to say about his status come September.  He may only make this team should the Cardinals keep at least six receivers.
