The Arizona Cardinals will likely see some of their own free agents leave for other teams as free agency begins

We’ve been talking about it for months now.  For the Arizona Cardinals and the rest of the NFL, the time has come.  Free agency is about to be open for business.

Starting this Tuesday, unrestricted free agents are allowed to start negotiating with other teams. On Thursday afternoon, they can start signing contracts.

The inevitable is here.  The Cardinals, although they have only about $22 million available to spend under the salary cap, will sign some players.  They will also lose a number of them.

As much as the Cardinals would like to keep a number of guys, the fact is they just won’t have the money available to keep everyone.  As to where some of these players may land is still anyone’s best guess.

What we know as the Arizona Cardinals roster now could look a little different a week from now. That’s the business side of the NFL.

While it isn’t always pretty and never ends up exactly as some of us would like to see it, the fact is there is always roster turnover.  This year it may be just more than we are used to.
