The Arizona Cardinals and the rest of the NFL could know their 2017 schedule before April 21

The time is nearing for another one of those days on the NFL calendar we all wish was a holiday, the release of the NFL regular-season schedule.  The Arizona Cardinals could know what their schedule looks like sometime during the week of April 17-21.

Typically the schedule comes out mid-April sometime each year.  For the most part however the NFL remains tight-lipped about exactly when the release is to come until just days before it actually happens.

Sure, there are never any guarantees in life except for death and taxes.  There hasn’t been a year in recent memory though where the schedule wasn’t released by the third week of April.

With the 2017 NFL Draft coming up on April 27-29, the NFL surely will ensure the schedule is out by then.  Today’s news from Adam Schefter indicates the NFL is working to do just that.

What is interesting though is he says no guarantees it will be finished by then.  There could be some last second snags in the scheduling but you have to think the NFL knows for the most part when and where teams are playing each other.

With the Cardinals 7-8-1 finish in 2016, it will be interesting to see how many national television/primetime games the they get.  I would not be surprised to see two or three.

Despite the down year for the Cardinals it could be the last for receiver Larry Fitzgerald, quarterback Carson Palmer, and possibly head coach Bruce Arians.  It would be disappointing for the nation as a whole to not get to see those three in action one more time.

Of course the Cardinals will be making the playoffs in 2017, so there is always that.  Schedule predictions will be forthcoming in the next week or so, so please stay tuned.
