Don’t Bother Boldin

Can’t we just let this go – for now?

Apparently a reporter, according to the Arizona Republic’s Bob McManaman, asked receiver Anquan Boldin yesterday about his contract situation and whether he thought it was still a distraction.  Boldin understanably was annoyed with the line of questioning.

I know it was the hot topic of the preseason and I posted several blogs on the issue, but Boldin has stepped up and not let it be a distraction.  He said right before the season started that he was going to be there for his teammates and fans.  He wasn’t going to let the contract situation get out of control, nor let it be a distraction.  Apparently his agent, Drew Rosen&%$#, is still spewing venom out of his mouth and asking the Cardinals to trade Boldin now, something the Cardinals have repeatedly said they won’t do during the season and why would they?  Boldin hasn’t been a distraction, has played well and I think those are things the Cardinals counted on.  When asked about Rosenhaus, Boldin said ” I can’t tell him what to say or what not to say”.

Well put.  Sounds like to me he may have tipped his hands in who is really pulling the strings on this deal.  Also sounds like from that quote, he may be growing tired of him.

Now, I’m going to come out and say all of a sudden what Boldin did by coming out on day one of training camp and saying he basically didn’t want to be here anymore was right, however he has stepped up and been true to his word so far in the first two weeks of the season.  I just wonder what kinds of questions he will get once the Cardinals, if the Cardinals, start a losing streak?  Hopefully he will see the light and stay here.  I think the bridges still may burning, however, its amazing what winning will do for someone.

Go Cards!
