Clausen Continues to Slip, Could Arizona be on the Radar?
By Scott Allen
Quarterback Jimmy Clausen from Notre Dame is slipping further and further. I’m not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing? What I do know is that the Arizona Cardinals have a history of taking the best available player left in the draft, rather than taking the greatest need. Remember Matt Leinart in 2006 at number 10?
Now, with OLB Sean Weatherspoon from Missouri going number 19 to the Atlanta Falcons, Clausen is one step closer to Arizona. There are still five picks lying in wait though. However, I have to think the Cincinnati Bengals at 21, New England Patriots at 22, and Green Bay Packers at 23 all pass on him. Not sure about the Denver Broncos at 24, and it won’t be the Baltimore Ravens at 25.
The Cardinals brass have a very interesting half hour coming up here.
