Don’t Burn Arizona Cardinals Just Yet

Has it really come down to this fans?  Burning Arizona Cardinals t-shirt’s?  I think not.  The video I found of this Cards t-shirt being burned by a fan is a little excessive.

We all know the Cards are not who they used to be, completely.  Many of the parts are still in place from the 2008 and 2009 seasons, so let’s not give up on these guys.  They aren’t a Super Bowl caliber team, I think we can all agree on that.  However, as we head into the game today against the Seattle Seahawks, you have to be looking at things as the glass is half-full.

The NFC West is where the Cards can still control their own destiny.  It does start with a victory over the Hawks today, but even with a loss, can you truly sit there and still write the Cards off?  I can’t.  The Cards have five of eight left at home, including all three divisional opponents.  On paper, the Cards could go 7-1 in the last eight, but more realistically 6-2 or 5-3 at best.  That should get the Cards into the playoffs as divisional champs.

So, let’s stop the overreacting.  All is not lost and even if the Cards fail to win the NFC West and make the playoffs this season, the team will address the issues at quarterback as best as they can in the off-season.  We know there may not be a 2011 in the NFL, that discussion will come later, however you have to keep believing.  If it is meant to be, it will happen for the Cards this season. If not, we move on.  Let’s just stop the insanity of burning things now.  Just stop!  It’s just a game people.
