Joey Porter Reportedly Restructures Contract to Remain a Cardinal

The Arizona Cardinals apparently were able to get linebacker Joey Porter to restructure his contract to remain a Cardinal.  Porter will remain a Cardinal after much speculation that he was going to leave.

I don’t have any issues with this.  If they are paying his worth and Porter produces, it’s all good.  Restructuring his contract allows the Cardinals to sign more free agents.  He’s not the Joey Porter of old, but serviceable enough and smart enough a player he will be good to have around for at least another year.  it would have been interesting to see though had he left if anyone else would have been willing to pick him up.

Now that Porter is back in the fold, the linebacker depth just got better in a hurry.
