Fourth Round Finds the Cardinals Tackling the Offensive Line With Massie
By Scott Allen
It was inevitable, the Arizona Cardinals addressed the offensive line in the fourth round today with the selection of Mississippi offensive tackle Bobby Massie. Let’s hope he was the best available and not a stretch. The Cards clearly drafting a need position have maintained they will draft the best overall player available. Let’s hope Massie was just that at pick 112.
Massie is considered one of the better right tackles in the draft, mainly because of the SEC competition he faced at Mississippi. Some projections had him in the top 50 players overall and going in the second round, so it would seem maybe the Cards got a steal at 112.
Massie has huge hands and long arms, both of which are pluses. There has been some question about his work ethic. Then again, he is coming out of school only a junior, so some of the knocks could be a little overrated in my book. I’ll give him a chance.
