Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians made a couple of announcements regarding the roster for the game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday

The Arizona Cardinals have been bit by the injury bug again.  This time it is defensive tackle Ed Stinson.  Head coach Bruce Arians announced on Friday that Stinson will miss Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.

More from Cardinals News

Stinson has an injured toe an has been ruled out by the team.  The other move announced for this Sunday is that quarterback Logan Thomas will officially be the backup quarterback on Sunday behind Drew Stanton.  That means Ryan Lindley will be the third quarterback.  No word on whether he would be active or not.

Stinson will be a huge loss.  He was really starting to play well.  He had that huge fourth quarter against the Dallas Cowboys a couple of weeks ago.  Now an injured toe will keep him out this week.  What it means after that remains to be seen.

As for Thomas, it does make the most sense I guess.  I had predicted a couple of days ago that I thought Lindley might be the backup bu that was predicated on he idea that he had caught up to what is going on with the offense right now. It seems as if that point has not arrived yet.

So now the Cardinals are one huge hit away from Logan Thomas being your quarterback.  Let’s just hope it doesn’t get to that point.   The offensive line has its hands full with the Lions pass rush and will need to work very hard to protect Stanton.
