I’m not saying the Cardinals need to draft a quarterback this year by any means, but I do think it’s time to start thinking about drafting a development or project just in case Matt Barkley doesn’t work out.

Stephen Rivers has been to quite a few schools, ranging from Louisiana State, Vanderbilt, and now Northwestern State. During the NFLPA bowl game, he showed unbelievable poise in the pocket, and his arm strength was in full focus. Stephen Rivers is anything but a finished project, but with Bruce Arians “The Quarterback Whisperer” on board, Rivers gets the most help he could ask for.

He is no Philip Rivers, but he shouldn’t be compared. He has enough talent to develop into a quality starter in the league. Like previously said, he could use some Bruce Arians whispering.
