Draft a cornerback

The Cardinals got the safety they believe will replace Rashad Johnson in Tyvon Branch.  So, on to the next position.  The Cardinals will need to add at corner, something they haven’t done in free agency yet.  Their one free agent cornerback, Jerraud Powers, has not been offered anything either by the Cardinals or anyone else.

I believe the Cardinals are interested in replacing Powers and now are looking at the draft to do so.  I don’t believe his replacement is on the current expanded roster.  Guys like Eli Apple from Ohio State or Mackensie Alexander from Clemson are attractive but likely gone by the time the Cardinals turn comes up.

They may opt to wait until later in the draft to find a backup cornerback and decide Justin Bethel is the full-time starter alongside Patrick Peterson in 2016.  I’m not sure the Cardinals are sold on that idea though.
