Sonny Randle

Sonny Randle Jr was in the NFL from 1959-1969.  He was with the Chicago Cardinals in 1959 and 1960.  Then the team moved to St. Louis, where he was a member of the team from 1961 until 1966.  He spent his last three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, and Washington Redskins.

Randle still owns one of the best days as an NFL receiver ever.  He caught 16 passes for 256 yards in a game against the New York Giants in 1962.  The 256 yards still stands as a team record.

His 15 touchdowns in once season still stand second in team history only to John David Crow.  He scored those 15 touchdowns in the 1960 season in Chicago.

Randle made the Pro Bowl four times, all with the Cardinals.  He made it in 1960, 1961, 1962, and 1965.  He was a First-Team All-Pro in 1960.

What is most impressive though are his receiving totals in 1962 and 1963 when the NFL was primarily a rushing league.  He had 1,158 yards receiving in 1962 and 1,014 yards and 12 touchdowns to go with it in 1963.
