Jake Coker

Coker saw his first professional game action on Friday night after a very good college career at the University of Alabama.  His last game played coincidentally was at University of Phoenix Stadium back in January where Alabama defeated Clemson for the National Championship.

Coker entered the game with about nine minutes left in the game in the fourth quarter.  He went just 2-5 for 16 yards.  His best pass of the evening was a 13-yard completion to Marquis Bundy.

Coker tried to get the Cardinals into scoring position on his second-to-last drive.  He drove the Cardinals 25-yards on six plays before stalling on fourth down.  He was sacked on fourth down. That ended the last scoring threat the Cardinals had for the evening.  Coker’s last drive ended the game before the Cardinals could score.

Coker didn’t play long enough to really get a real sense of where he stood in the third quarterback competition.  However combined with Barkley’s play, Coker didn’t lose any ground either.
