Cardinals defense vs Rams offense

The Cardinals defense still gave up some big plays last week against the Seahawks.  Much of that can be attributed to guys just not used to being in the game as much as they have and also new faces due to injury.

The Cardinals only gave up 17 last time to the Rams and the Rams offense hasn’t exactly been lighting up the scoreboard.  The Rams offense has scored more than 20 points only three times since they played the Cardinals and have scored 10 or fewer points in six of the 11 games played since.

As previously stated, it will be interesting to see how the Cardinals respond to rookie quarterback Goff.  No matter the quarterback you’d expect to see a lot of blitzing from the Cardinals.

The Cardinals also stopped running back Todd Gurley in the last meeting, holding him to just 33-yards rushing.  Gurley has 845-yards rushing in 2016.

There will be a couple of new faces in the secondary for the Cardinals this week with Bryant and Dixon.  The loss of Jefferson hurts but if for just one game at the end of a season, it will be fun to see what contributions both Bryant and Dixon can provide.

Rams receiver Kenny Britt did not practice on Wednesday.  Receiver Michael Thomas was limited. We’ll see how it plays out with both of them the rest of this week.
