Left tackle belongs to Jared Veldheer

On Monday, Cardinals tackle Jared Veldheer indicated his rehab was going well and will be ready to go this spring for OTA’s and beyond.  The big question is, where will he play on the line?

Veldheer indicated his interest in continuing to play left tackle.  That’s where he feels most comfortable. He’s played there since his early college days.

However there is also D.J. Humphries.  Left tackle is his natural position.  He played fairly well in the absence of Veldheer once he went on injured reserve after the Carolina game.

One of these guys will need to move over to right tackle though.  That guy will be Humphries.  He’s played the position more recently.  Veldheer is the veteran.  There can’t be a different answer to this dilemma.

It is a nice feeling though the Cardinals have two guys that can play left tackle, the most important position on the offensive line.  Veldheer should remain in that position as long as he is healthy and playing well.
