The good thing about Ford Field in Detroit is there are a number of places to stay in and around the area in downtown.  There are also a lot of places to eat.

As far as ticket prices go, the average price for 2016 was below the NFL average of $92.98 per ticket.  Given the game is indoors, you have a number of options to eat and sleep, this might be the most cost-effective trip to take.

Sure you can venture out into the city and suburbs if you get the chance.  One of the options provided here for hotels is actually as casino as well.  If you just want to fly in and fly out and stay a couple of days, you should find enough to be entertained with.
