Kevin Minter

There are still mixed feelings about his possible departure.  Some seem resigned to him leaving, others would like him to be re-signed.

The big question is what is his real worth.  He was a slow starter in terms of playing to his potential.  He’s not reached his peak yet.

His production fell slightly in 2016 in terms of tackles.  He had 81 tackles with three-and-a-half sacks and two passes defensed.  He had 94 tackles in 2015 with half a sack.

The Cardinals may be willing to move on however with other teams looking to bolster their linebacking core and once again, looking to overpay someone.  Minter wasn’t very productive his first two seasons in Arizona.

When looking at the overall profile, Minter’s stat sheet should look more impressive given the expectations coming into the NFL.  The fact is, this is Minter’s first dip into the free agent market. He may have impressed someone enough to take a crack at a young linebacker.
