Antoine Bethea was brought in to replace Jefferson at the Safety position and bring a sense of leadership

The signing of Antoine Bethea was definitely a no-brainer after Jefferson left for Baltimore. The 32 year old Bethea, who is in his 12th season, is a little more aged in the NFL world but that isn’t always a bad thing. He is consistent, his play has never slowed down, he had 95 total tackles for the 49ers in 2016, he hauled in an interception and forced a fumble.

It will be fun to see how Bethea fits in with the Cardinals secondary, he is known for his hard hits and ball hawk capabilities. Tony Jefferson was obviously an up and coming star, but Bethea should be able to step in and get the job done. He also has a relationship with Bruce Arians who he played for in 2012 when Arians was the offensive coordinator and the interim head coach.

Bethea will bring a lot to Arizona, i think he will fit in nicely with the rest of the secondary and continue to make the plays that he always has. We will just have to wait and see for sure once the 2017 season starts
