Jahri Evans, OG

The Cardinals are no stranger to finding “patches” for the offensive line. Last year was Evan Mathis’ turn, so how about 2017 being Jahri Evans’ turn? Evans has only missed 5 games in 12 years while blocking for Drew Brees since Brees’ arrival in the Big Easy.

Since there are no official stats for an offensive guard, let’s look at the stats of the people that he blocks for. Drew Brees has five seasons with 5,000+ yards, an NFL record as there are only four other 5,000 yard seasons total. Who blocked for Brees from the interior line in each of those four seasons? That’s right, Mr. Jahri Evans.

Evans also knows how to block for a hard-nosed runner, but instead of leading the way for David Johnson, he has lead the way for Mark Ingram. In 2016, Ingram rushed for over 1,000 yards and a 5.1 yards per carry average.
