The Philadelphia Eagles are an improving team that could give the Cardinals trouble in week five

The Philadelphia Eagles last made the playoffs in 2013, but haven’t been a bad team in the years since. They just haven’t been able to put it all together. Last year, they drafted a new quarterback, and are working to put a team together around him.

Not surprisingly, Carson Wentz had an inconsistent year as a rookie. The Eagles finished 28th in touchdown passes, though the receiving corps played a big part in that as well. Defensively, they were solid, but not spectacular, finishing right in the middle against both the run and the pass.

The Cardinals have taken advantage of the Eagles in recent seasons, going 4-1 against them in this decade. Wentz completed over 60% of his passes, but tossed 14 interceptions to just 16 touchdowns. The Cardinals were one of the NFL’s best teams at forcing turnovers, and it could be a factor.

The Eagles went out and attacked free agency at the wide receiver position. Still, a young quarterback could be forced into mistakes by a Cardinal defense that knows how to force them. Arizona 23 – Philadelphia 20
