The Cardinals travel to San Francisco coming off of the bye week

Arizona won in San Francisco last season despite Carson Palmer being injured, and Drew Stanton throwing for just 116 yards while completing less than 40% of his passes. Fortunately for the Cardinals, Blaine Gabbert, who started at quarterback for the Niners, was just as ineffective.

Both offenses were bad in the matchup in San Francisco, or both defenses were good, depending on the point of view. Turnovers were the difference, with the 49ers giving it up three times, while the Cardinals didn’t give it up at all.

The Cardinals intercepted Gabbert twice, but the players who recorded both of them are no longer with the team. Still, the Cardinals will be favored, even on the road in the division.

The 49ers had a pretty nice draft last month, and are on the track to getting better. But without a true quarterback, they’re still an also-ran. Arizona 24 – San Francisco 13
