Arizona Cardinals: Five players in danger of being cut
By Scott Allen
Harlan Miller
This will be a tough call. Miller has been inconsistent, really struggled early on. He had the same issue last preseason as well.
While Miller came back and played in the regular season finale and played well, it hasn’t carried completely into the preseason. He will be a bubble spot come cut down time.
Miller is expected to fight for the final spot with rookie Rudy Ford. The Cardinals really liked Ford when they drafted him back at the end of April.
Miller was given a shot at cornerback but he seems to fit better as a safety, a position that is overloaded right now. Whether that plays into a final decision or not on him remains to be seen.
The good news with either Miller or Ford though is whoever doesn’t win the job could be a practice squad player. The other guys on this list would not be eligible.
Last season some thought Marqui Chrisitian would make it but then was cut and signed with the Los Angeles Rams. I’m not saying that will happen here if the Cardinals cut either one of these guys but it is a good possibility if the Cardinals cut Miller, he will be snatched up by another club.
