Gerald Christian

There was an ongoing debate whether the Cardinals would keep three or four tight ends. Some believed if Christian was amongst the cuts that he would be a good practice squad possibility.

There is agreement here in that belief.  Certainly a guy like Rickey Seals-Jones could be a tight end that is brought back as well but Christian, having been with the Cardinals longer, could fill a spot.

The Cardinals offense doesn’t really use a tight end as often as others.  The Cardinals also don’t employ a fullback in their offense, something a tight end has in the past acted as in certain situations.

Having another tight end in case of emergency on the practice squad however would be prudent. If any of the three tight ends the Cardinals kept, Jermaine Gresham, Troy Niklas, or Ifeanyi Momah went down, Christian certainly would be more than ample as a fill in.

Chances he is signed by the Cardinals and placed on practice squad: Good

Chances if signed he plays for Cardinals in 2017: Good
