Arizona Cardinals: 5 players who must show improvement
By Scott Allen
Carson Palmer
Speaking of Palmer, not a great day last Sunday for him in Detroit was it? That’s an understatement.
While some have taken the sky is falling attitude with Palmer, there is too much football left at this moment for the Cardinals or even fans to feel that way. Palmer must succeed and do much better going forward to give them any chance at victory.
Palmer simply just needs to play better. Without Johnson to hand the ball to 20 times, the passing game is back at the forefront of the offensive game plan.
Palmer not only threw three interceptions against the Lions, he also had about three or four passes that could have been picked. He also threw several balls short of receivers on out patterns.
Palmer even admitted he knows he has to play much better. His is the quarterback, he is the offensive leader. Whether you like it or not, as long as he is healthy and the Cardinals are mathematically alive in the playoff chase, Palmer is the starting quarterback of this team.
