Arizona Cardinals: Still unknowns with team injuries
By Scott Allen
The Arizona Cardinals injury report on Thursday wasn’t any better than what we saw on Wednesday
Despite being limited in practice again on Thursday, the Arizona Cardinals are hopeful left tackle D.J. Humphries, guard Alex Boone, and defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche will all play on Sunday. Raise your hand if you’ve heard that one before.
For a few days last week it appeared hopeful that at least Humphries and Nkemdiche would be available against the Philadelphia Eagles. We all know how that played out.
So here we are again with this time including Boone as a possibility to play this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I believe it when the inactive list comes out late Sunday morning.
With newly acquired running back Adrian Peterson you can bet the Cardinals are trying to do everything they can to get Humphries and Boone ready to play. It would be a huge boost to a struggling offensive line.
Wednesday had 12 players limited in practice. The same 12 were limited on Thursday. It is a large number for being this close to game day. The list we will want to see is after Friday’s practice when the official status for Sunday’s game will be revealed.

Others listed as limited were linebackers Josh Bynes and Karlos Dansby, receivers John Brown and J.J. Nelson, defensive tackles Xavier Williams, Josh Mauro, and Corey Peters. Also limited were cornerback Patrick Peterson and right tackle Jared Veldheer.
The only player listed as out was defensive tackle Olsen Pierre. He will likely miss some games.
As for the Buccaneers, their biggest listed injury is defensive end Ryan Russell. He did not practice on Thursday. They also had six players listed as limited on Thursday including defensive end Robert Ayers.
Expect most of the Cardinals limited players to be available on Sunday. Let’s hope so, more than half the defensive line was limited on Thursday. It will be tough to play without one.
