Arizona Cardinals: 5 quarterbacks team could draft
By Scott Allen
Nic Shimonek
Being at Texas Tech, you’d expect to see big arms. Pat Mahomes was the last prize to come out of Lubbock, Texas.
So far this season Shimonek has looked like another promising prospect for the NFL. The Cardinals didn’t land Mahomes but could they land Shimonek?
He has thrown for 3,3,14-yards in 2017. He has 28 touchdowns and just seven interceptions so far this season. That is an excellent ratio.
Another quarterback not know for running with the ball, his arm fits what the Cardinals traditionally have liked to do. Those passing number are great but something else sticks out as well.

Shimonek has a 70 percent completion percentage. Certainly it would help to have receivers who can catch the ball but being able to complete the ball with that high of a percentage says he can read the field and find open receivers.
Not a lot of people talk about Shimonek but he is someone that should get a good look come post 2017 season leading into the Scouting Combine. A young kid that can air it out. Sounds good.
