The Bad

Blaine Gabbert

A look at Gabbert’s numbers show it wasn’t all bad.  However early on he was really off his game.  He didn’t turn the ball over but went just 7-14 in the first half.

His misses weren’t very good.  Either he wasn’t on the same page as his receivers or it was just bad play.  He overthrew some of his receivers, including his go-to tight end in Ricky Seals-Jones.

Gabbert did go 10-12 in the second half but he missed some open guys.  He also missed getting Larry Fitzgerald the ball in the end zone in the fourth quarter.  The Cardinals had to settle for another field goal.

Phil Dawson

Yes, it can be difficult to say a guy who went 4-5 and basically was the team’s offense on Sunday as having a bad day.  However he missed his eighth field goal of the season.

The missed field goal was a bad missed.  He appeared to be frazzled prior to kicking it, so who knows what happened?

What we do know is that the Cardinals need better overall effort from their kicker.  The miss didn’t cost the Cardinals the game but with it still a one possession game, it certainly could have had the defense not continue to come up big.

Patrick Peterson

Overall Peterson didn’t have a horrible day by any stretch.  However there was one play that surely he would want back.

On a play where he thought he was interfered with or held at the very least, and replays show he had reason to be upset, he gave up on the play. Peterson can be upset all he wants after the play, however his rant during the play caused him to quit on it.

He didn’t on purpose, Peterson isn’t that type of player.  However the optics on the play were not good.  It is something hopefully doesn’t happen again going forward.
