Mike Iupati

When he became a free agent a couple of years back, he was ranked as the fourth best free agent available after playing for the San Francisco 49ers.  The Cardinals surprisingly made the move to sign him.

Iupati has always been considered one of the better run blockers on the offensive line in the NFL.  His issue has always been pass protection.  However when he got to Arizona, he managed to do alright with it.

Like Veldheer, his issue has been injury.  Iupati has had trouble staying healthy during his time in Arizona.  His 2017 season, like many other Cardinals, ended early with a trip to injured reserve.

Now it would seem the Cardinals are ready to head in a different direction at guard.  The Cardinals offensive line struggles are well documented.  One of the unit’s biggest problems has been staying healthy, which has been part of the inconsistency experienced.
