Free agency is still going on in the NFL with two more former Arizona Cardinals players finding new homes on Tuesday

Still no new news on the Arizona Cardinals signing any players but that should change soon.  What we did see happen on Tuesday was two more former Cardinals landing in new cities.

Nose tackle Xavier Williams found a new home with the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday.  There was a chance of Williams remaining with the Cardinals.

The Cardinals tender offered Williams a few days ago.  However the Chiefs made Williams a better deal and he signed there as the Cardinals refused to match the Chiefs offer.

He played his first three seasons in the NFL with the Cardinals.  He was an undrafted free agent that turned heads early on.

The other player that signed elsewhere on Tuesday was defensive lineman Josh Mauro.  He was signed by the New York Giants.  He was cut by the Cardinals last week.

Mauro also was an undrafted free agent when he entered the league.  He was with the Pittsburgh Steelers in his first training camp.  After being cut, the Cardinals picked him up and spent the next three seasons with them.

Mauro gets to play for his former defensive coordinator in Arizona in James Bettcher.  It is a very good move for Mauro and for the Giants.

As for the Cardinals, one player still does remain on the roster as of Tuesday afternoon that is expected to be gone soon.  Tackle Jared Veldheer remains despite recent offensive line signings.

The Cardinals could be readying themselves for a trade in order to get something or someone in return for him.  He could also be cut if the Cardinals were not able to find a suitor for his services.

Next: Arizona Cardinals can still make more of a splash

There is still a lot to happen between now and the draft.  The Cardinals aren’t done making moves just yet.
