Austin Ramesh, FB, Wisconsin

When Bruce Arians took over as head coach of the Cardinals back in 2013, the fullback position became null and void.  Arians’ offense didn’t require the use of the fullback.

The Cardinals last had a fullback on the roster in 2012.  Is the position going to return in 2018?  It would seem that way with the addition of Austin Ramesh out of Wisconsin.

Even if Ramesh isn’t the guy, this is one of the early signs showing the changing of the guard in Arizona.  Ramesh though is a good one.

While his numbers last season at Wisconsin are mind-blowing, keep in mind the numbers for fullbacks in the NFL don’t get a whole lot better for many.  He played in 13 games last season and had 17 carries for 89-yards and two touchdowns.

Can he get you those tough yards in goal line situations?  That’s going to be important.  Ramesh stands at 6’1, 255.  That’s a pretty big guy that could help move the chains when needed.
