6. Trading for Carson Palmer

After Keim came in and after the hire of head coach Bruce Arians, the Cardinals started eyeing Palmer.  He was coming off a fairly inconsistent season with the Raiders.

Keim and Arians though felt he could be good for the offensive system being put into place.  It took about six or seven games into the 2013 season, but Palmer fell right into place nicely.

Palmer lead the Cardinals to a 10-6 record in 2013, 7-2 over his last nine starts.  Then he went 6-0 as a starter in 2014 before his second ACL injury.

Palmer had become more than the stop gap quarterback fans and media thought he would be.  He was 16-6 as a starter over his first two seasons.

Then in 2015, he started every game.  He lead the Cardinals to a 13-3 record, putting his Cardinals career record at 29-9.  That is pretty darn good anywhere.

Palmer got his first career playoff win against the Green Bay Packers, leading the Cardinals to the NFC Championship.  Unfortunately a broken arm ended his career less than halfway through the 2017 season, his last before retiring in January.
