Christian Kirk

Everything seemed to fall into place very well for Kirk at the NFL Draft.  He is a local favorite who played high school in the Valley but went away to Texas A&M for college.

Some had him targeted as high as a late first round selection before the Cardinals ended up taking him in the second-round.  Kirk could be the heir apparent to Fitzgerald.

The feel good story lasted all of a couple of weeks after the draft.  Then a story appeared that Kirk got in trouble for an incident at the Waste Management Phoenix Open back in January.

However, soon thereafter charges were dropped and just like that the story was dead.  That could have been a real black eye for the organization, however the Cardinals indicated right away after the new broke publicly that Kirk was forthcoming of the incident during their meeting prior to the draft.

For now, Kirk gets to spend at least one season learning under Fitz.  He couldn’t have come to a better professional situation.
