The Arizona Cardinals made some great additions in the offseason but sometimes you can add by subtracting

Not every good move made this offseason by the Arizona Cardinals has been an addition to the roster.  Some decisions made by general manager Steve Keim and company should be lauded as good by the mere subtraction from the roster.

Not every subtraction is a good move.  Some is out of necessity.  Some happens because of money.  Some happens because of retirement.

The Cardinals had all of that.  Here we are talking about a little mix of reasons why certain players are no longer around.

It was time to move on from these players, whether it was a team decision or a player decision.  Usually a player’s decision is made easier based on what he believe’s the team’s belief is in him.

The Cardinals could end up being better for the sake of these guys no longer being with the team.  It isn’t necessarily because all of them were awful but their replacements are better.  That happens a lot.

Sometimes it is just about the money.  Those decisions aren’t always the most popular but what a player feels his value is versus what the team values said player at can often be at two different ends of the spectrum.
