John Brown

Brown is another player who had a great chance to have a long successful career in Arizona.  Unfortunately his injuries also did him in here.

Brown was a small school find by Keim in 2014.  He came in and surprised many given his size.  However his hands and speed made him a great fit for Arians’ offense.

However when he pulled a hamstring it was discovered later on he had sickle cell trait.  While that was not something he could control, his work ethic towards trying to stay healthy and giving a full effort to be on the field each week was brought into question.

Just hearing Arians’ talk about him last year in training camp you could tell he was near wits end.  His productivity declined and he was inconsistent.  He could never grab hold of a top spot on the depth chart at receiver.

Granted, Arians wasn’t happy with most of his receivers last summer but given how high the Cardinals were on him in 2014 and 2015, it was a surprise it had reached this point with Brown.
