Antoine Bethea

He is going into his 13th season at safety.  This will be his second season in the desert with the Cardinals.

Bethea had a good first season with the team last year, grabbing five interceptions.  He also managed to avoid any major injury.

With a veteran in the defensive backfield with as much experience as Bethea’s, it is important something like that is around all season.  He should be a mentor for second year guys like Rudy Ford and Budda Baker.

This group not only survived the injury bug last season but all three made it through the transition together from the old coaching staff to the new coaching staff.  Bethea was also a nice surprise as some thought he was done with before even making it to Arizona.

There is a lot to be said about on the field leadership, especially with a number of young guys playing next to you.  We all know what Bethea can do.  No need to push him for a ton of preseason reps.
