Mike Glennon

When the Cardinals first signed Glennon, it steered some to think maybe the Cardinals wouldn’t be going after a top quarterback in the draft.  Given the history of Glennon, some didn’t know what to think.

After Rosen was selected, the initial thought was the Cardinals would keep Glennon as the backup and Rosen as the third quarterback.  During OTA’s though it quickly became apparent Rosen was going to be the number two guy.

So what to do with Glennon?  When preseason started, the first depth chart had him as number three, rookie Chad Kanoff as fourth.

Kanoff played well early in the preseason.  Glennon saved his best preseason game for last.  Rumors spread the Cardinals were fielding offers for Glennon from other teams.

Nothing came to fruition and now Glennon sits as the third quarterback, for now.  We’ll see how long that lasts though.  As soon as the first starting quarterback gets injured, the phones will likely start ringing again.
