There has been an announcement made by the Arizona Cardinals that big news is coming at 11 am Tuesday

If you are up early this morning and trying to think of something to do to fill the void of your day, the Arizona Cardinals are inviting you to listen in on a press conference at 11:00 a.m.  They announced Monday night they had major news to share on Tuesday morning.

Could it be running back David Johnson will be getting a contract extension?  Maybe, maybe (and probably) not.  There was no indication whatsoever as to what the news would be.  Pro Football Talk reported the news on Monday evening as their guess is Johnson.

They indicated this information was passed along by Cardinals beat writer for the Arizona Republic, Bob McManaman.  If it isn’t about Johnson though, what could the news possibly be?

Well what actually makes the most sense is the Cardinals could be ready to announce new naming rights to University of Phoenix Stadium.  Some are guessing that’s what the announcement could be.

That would seem to be the only logical reason the announcement would come at the stadium itself.  Even if it isn’t a naming rights issue, it is most likely not related to Johnson or any other player who is either already on the roster or one coming to the team.

Next. Arizona Cardinals offensive line a work in progress. dark

Let the guessing begin though. Some even guessing Monday evening that it would be team president Michael Bidwill being named as a replacement for the late John McCain representing Arizona in the U.S. Senate.

We will find out exactly if it is one of these things or if something else will catch us completely by surprise at 11 a.m.  If not Johnson, let’s hope that is still a deal that gets done soon.
