Sustain drives

This is key.  The defense has spent too much time on the field over the first three weeks.  Sure, some if it is their own doing but they are tired, mainly from the offense not being able to stay on the field long.

The Cardinals need to sustain drives, even if they don’t score, keep the defense on the sidelines for longer stretches.  Three and outs does you no good.

Of course it would be nice to put points on the board against the Seahawks on Sunday but they need to get out there and get some first downs on every drive.  This also may require to convert on third downs, another issue with this offense so far.

Certainly it is easier said than done, but they need to give Rosen the tools to succeed.  Use running back David Johnson in crucial third and short plays.  I like Chase Edmonds but part of sustaining drives is knowing what personnel to have on the field in key moments.

Now, this doesn’t mean I’m not alright with Rosen trying for a home run ball and connecting but the Cardinals did that last week.  They got 14 quick points in the first quarter and didn’t score again.
