Arizona Cardinals: Coaches they should not hire
By Scott Allen
Dan Campbell
He is scheduled to interview with the Cardinals this weekend. He is currently an assistant with the New Orleans Saints.
You hear that and immediately you think an offensive guy who has worked with Drew Brees. On the surface it sounds good.
The Saints didn’t exactly set the world on fire offensively down the stretch of the season. Campbell, a former NFL tight end, would get his first full-time head coaching position in the NFL if hired.
He filled in as an interim with the Miami Dolphins in 2015 and went 5-7. Of the five guys listed here, he is probably the one I’d feel most comfortable with. Still, I think the Cardinals can do better.
It is all about trying to keep up with the new NFL and the Rams and Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West. I’m not convinced a Campbell hire would be a home run but I’ve been wrong plenty of times before.
