The Patriots get their heir apparent to Tom Brady

Arizona Cardinals acquire: 2019 first-round pick (No. 32), 2019 third-round pick via Lions (No. 73), ILB Ja’Whaun Bentley

New England Patriots acquire: QB Josh Rosen

Would the Cardinals feel comfortable giving Rosen to the Patriots, and potentially continuing their dynasty? Considering that the two rarely face each other and are on a very different competitive timeline, the possibility is certainly there, but at the right place.

In this trade, the Cardinals decide to combine the past two train of thoughts — getting depth picks and adding another 2019 first rounder. They also fill a team need (ILB) with a young player, on a rookie contract in Ja’Whaun Bentley, who showed his abilities as an outstanding coverage linebacker. Before being placed on the injured reserve, the 2018 fifth-rounder was ranked as the fifth best linebacker in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus.

But at the end of the day, shipping Rosen off to New England is a risky proposition as the team has the coaching staff to tap into his potential. If they do decide to do so, the trade above would not be a bad compensation prize.
