Receivers

The Cardinals are taking huge risks with the receivers they decided to go get.  Kevin White should turn out to be a monster player if he remains healthy.  That is a big if however.

White wasn’t worth the risk for the Chicago Bears to hold on to.  Why will he work out here and not in Chicago if he is healthy?  They say one teams garbage is another’s treasure but in this case we just don’t know what the Cardinals will get?

Then there is Damiere Byrd.  The Cardinals just signed the former Carolina Panthers receiver recently.  This is a guy who has been around a few years but has very little production.

Money certainly could have had something to do with it.  White will make $1.5 million while Byrd’s contract calls for $720,000.  Jordan Matthews may have been a better play here.

Matthews is going to make 1.8 million to move from the Philadelphia Eagles to the San Francisco 49ers.  We don’t know if the Cardinals truly ever had any interest but on the surface seems like a safer bet.
