First Quarter

Week 1 (September 5-9) – Atlanta Falcons

It’s as good a guess as any to open the 2019 season.  They also have the Carolina Panthers on the schedule, but they’ve been the opener here before.

The Cardinals have also opened recently with the Detroit Lions and they too are scheduled to come to State Farm stadium this season.  So why not the Falcons this go around?

Week 2 (September 12-16) – @ New York Giants

This would be a welcome game in September.  It could also be pitting the Cardinals against Josh Rosen if he gets traded to the Giants?  That’s a huge maybe though.

Sending the Cardinals to New York instead of December would be a huge gift.  It would not be the first time however the Cardinals received such a gift from the NFL.

Week 3 (September 19-23) – @ Baltimore Ravens

This could be one of those times where the team stays back east between games.  We know it has happened before to the Cardinals.  There is usually one or two teams a season that do this.

The last time the Cardinals stayed back east in 2015 against the Lions and the Pittsburgh Steelers.  They won in Detroit but lost one of their three games that season in Pittsburgh.

Week 4 (September 26-30) – Los Angeles Rams

This being the first divisional game of the year will be tough.  However it will be fun to see new Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury coach against his friend, Rams head coach Sean McVey.

They don’t play on the field though.  This could be a Kyler Murray vs. Jarod Goff matchup.
